UIC UDYOG LIMITED (Formerly UIC WIRES LIMITED) is an ISO: 9001 : 2000 certified Business House in Steel Wire Industry having State-Of-Science Multi-Product Plant at Kalyani, West Bengal, India. The automated Plant is one of the largest of its kind in India.

UIC commenced commercial production in 1999. Within this period, it is one of the leading manufacturers of Steel Wires catering to the needs of Asian Development Bank Projects, Indian Railways, State Electricity Boards, Bangladesh Railways, Bangladesh Power Development Corporation, Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd., NTPC, NHPC etc. to name a few. The Company is serving both the Government as well as Private Sector in India & abroad up to their specification and delight. UIC has implemented comprehensive computerization of its Offices and Plant for smooth operations. Communication between Offices and Plant is mostly paperless via electronic media. ISO 9001:2000 Quality Management System is strictly applied to reap its full benefits.

As a part of our policy to diversify our activities we have set up a modern Card, Gill & Meta Pin manufacturing unit at Khanyan, Station Road, Dist. Hooghly. Our Plant is equipped with most sophisticated machinery and technical personals having vast experience in the field of pin manufacturing. Manufacturing of pins is forward integration for our company as we have our own steel wire unit.

We have come up with new technology which will supersede the old conventional way of manufacturing pins with low carbon, low manganese, low tensile and decarburization of pins by coming in contact with air during hardening. New Technology of UIC wires Ltd. gives higher carbon ranging from 81-85, higher manganese ranging from 70 and above which results in good tensile strength. We are following oil bath tempering process instead of conventional air flow type. We are doing hardening in Automatic Electrically heated thyrisortically controlled Shaker hearth furnace under controlled atmosphere by purzing Endo gas, which results into uniform hardening, no burning on surface and no decarburization giving pin 20% more then others.

We have also set up a new power plant at Maharashtra producing 5 MW of power.

UIC is an environment conscious & socially responsible Organistaion. It has fully functional Effluent Treatment Plant to ensure a clean environment. It is actively involved in social forestry, spreading women's literacy, charitable hospitals etc. The company believes in overall development of the society.
